Cleaning my kitchen this morning (I know, gasp) I was giving my slow cooker a loving wipe down, and was amazed to find it dusty. The slow cooker that was used almost daily during the winter and spring had a layer of dust through neglect covering it. It’s just been too blummin’ hot for roasts, hotpots and hearty soups. Which led me on a quest to find some summer slow cooker recipes and bring my baby back from the doom and gloom of the corner she has been stuffed into to gather dust whilst the sun shines.
Summer Berry Cobbler
I’ve never made a sweet in the slow cooker before and this recipe from The Slow Cooker Queen looks fantastic. And other than needing some frozen summer berries, seems that the ingredients are pretty simple and things already in my cupboards anyway.

I love that this recipe is in video form, makes it all so much easier to follow for kitchen dunces like myself. And boy does that look yummy.

Who knew you could make burgers in the slow cooker? I love a good burger, they are such great summer fair to sit outside and eat. But I loath cooking on the BBQ and anything that means I can bung some ingredients into the slow cooker and then not have to worry about cooking dinner is a winner with me.
Lemon Poppy Cake
Another sweet recipe, I really do need to try this one out because I love lemon cake – it’s my absolute most favourite kind of cake after cheese cake. and again doesn’t look complex or like it needs lots of fancy ingredients.
